Fable

this is my life
this is my fable
clouded and frozen and keeping me in
all of the stores close shop by 5
and people seek comfort by drinking
nobody's thinking
nothing is strange here
stable snaps open and shines from within
but nobody's looking - the gift disappears
little boy's crying
he sees that he too will be beaten someday
maybe the next leg of people are smarter

cover me
as i reach for the wall
fist goes through
not surprising
depressing
pedal but slowly sinking
speak to me
conversation is a gift
that no one is giving
i'm letting it overwhelm me

sick from the cycle of running and sleeping
and saving our energy
outside it's raining
put down your magazine
sit here and speak with me
voice is more interesting than any book could be
all of our teachers
and wise men and leaders mean nothing
but we all fail to see this
now is the only time anyone here is alive
