Well, I've bought the "new" (actually, it's a EMI compilation)
R.E.M. album, and I heard that "Time After Time/Red Rain/So. Central Rain"
live medley that contains a really nice version of "So. Central Rain".
It's just Michael singing and Peter playing.
To play this version, just replace the C on the bass solo:

I have this version from a 1985 concert where Peter is picking thourgh the song. I´t may
work on the IRS version from Utrecht 1987 but I´m not sure. This is how I´m hearing it.
