Ba D ck through the years I go wondering once again
Back to the seasons of my/ G7 youth
I re/c D all a box of rags that someone gave us
And how my mamma put the rags to/ G7 use
There were/ D rags of many colours, and every piece was small
And I didn't have a coat and it was/ A way down in the fall
Mamma/ s D ewed the rags together, sewing/ ev G7 ery piece with love
She made my/ c D oat of many colours,that/ I A was so proud of
A D s she sewed she told the story from the bible she had read
About a coat of many colours Joseph/ w A ore and then she said
Per/ha D ps this coat will bring you good / l G7 uck and happiness
And I just could/n D 't wait to wear it
And mamma/ b A lessed it with a kiss D
My c G7 oat of many colours that/ my m D amma made for me
M G7 ade only from rags,but I/ D wore it so proud/l A y
Al/tho D ugh we had no money but I/ G7 was rich as I could be
In my/ c D oat of many colours, my/ m A amma made for me D
(CHANGE CORDS HERE)
S E o with patches on my breaches and holes in both my shoes
In my coat of many colours,I/ B7 hurried off to school
Just to/ f E ind the others laughing and mak/in A ' fun of me
In my/ E coat of many colours,my/ m B7 amma made for/ E me
Oh,I couldn't understand it,for I felt I was rich
And I told them of the love my mamma/ se B7 wed in ever stitch
And I/ t E old them all the story ,mamma/ t A old me while she
sewed
And how my/ c E oat of many colours
was worth/ mo B7 re than all of their clothes
They/ d A idn't under stand it and I/ t E ried to make them see
That/ A one is only poor only/ E if they choose to be/ B7
Now I/ E know we had no money,but I was/ A rich as I could be
In my/ c E oat of many colours, my/ B7 mamma made for me E
Ye A ah just for me..... E
Cheers!!!
