It's a great song. I play it everyday i can and sometimes more then once a hour.. It makes me thing alot about my family and girlfriend cuz I'm in the Air Force now and will be going to "the sandbox" in june.. I'll miss them all but mostly Megan. Love you Megan!!

i personaly thought at first that it was about the military idea of the war in iraq. now that i read it on wikipedia that its about his alcohol thingy. but before that i read about the never ending road, i thought that was a good meaning. too bad my mom hates traveling to deserts. i live in los angeles, california and i would like to drive on that road with a icebox thing filled with ice cold water! lolbut honestly i dont like desserts. like come on, im like suffering in this california heat waves, so imagine me in the dessert! so yeah, i LOVE corey's writing and he always makes such an impact on me that i could listen to this song forever and ever. i love the songs Inhale, Bother, monolith and of course this one the most out of Stone Sour. ive seen them live once at the jagermeister tour and they are AWESOME!

Zzyzx Rd. is an actual road. It leads from Las Angeles to Las Vegas. Whenever he rides on this road, he feels secluded. Either side of the road is surrounded by seemingly endless desert. He also wishes he could see his family more often.

This song could have a million meanings...but for me and my family...it has to do with being overseas in the military fighting in this stupid fucking war. Especially the line...****I get to go home in one week.
But I'm leaving home in three weeks.
They throw me a bone just to pick me dry.*** That's exactly how leave is..they come home for three weeks time from, give or take, and then have to go away AGAIN..it's like throwing a dog a bone..they get a small taste of the goodness...but without the meat, the bone is just a bone...without everyday with your family, it's just more time spent with them. Granted I will give anything in the world for that time together...it still sucks going so long without seeing him, getting to see him for a few weeks and then having to deal with him going back to the sandbox for a few more months. This is our second deployment and I am absolutely in love with this song.

i agree that you can take whatever meaning suits you, but this song has gotta be about all the soldiers in iraq...... just read the lyrics, and we all know CT is not a big fan of the war. and ZZyxz road leads to Ft. Irwin CA- which happens to be the major US desert warfare training center. Can't be coincedence.........
