Somewhere Over The Rainbow
This song I imagine has been done by everyone from Ella Fitzgerald and Judy Garland to Willie Nelson.
I even heard a different than normal take on it from a Hawaiian named Israel Kamakawiwo'ole that
sounds pretty cool. This is my take on it for the acoustic guitar and walking bass.
Keep up the good work gvaughn@roughstock.com

Intro (finger pick the melody) G Am7 Em D7
(Strum this song like a slow walking bass)
G ÊÊEm Am7 D7
When all the world is a hopeless jumble
ÊG Em ÊAm7 D7
And the raindrops tumble all around
G Em Am7 ÊD7 G Em Am7 D7
Heaven ÊÊÊÊÊÊÊÊÊopens a magic lane
When all the clouds darken up the skyway
There's a rainbow highway to be found
Em Am7 ÊÊÊÊÊÊÊÊÊÊÊÊÊÊÊD7
Leading from your windowpane
(this part is out of time)
To a place behind the sun
Just a step beyond the rain
G Em ÊÊBm ÊÊÊÊG7 C Adim Bm G7
Some~where over the rainbow, way up high
C ÊAdim G Em ÊÊAm7 D7 G D7
Theres a land that I heard of once in a lullaby
Some~where ÊÊÊover the Êrainbow ÊÊÊÊskies are ÊÊblue
C Adim G Em Am7 ÊÊD7 G D7
And the dreams that you ÊÊÊÊÊdare to dream really do come true
Someday I'll wish upon a star
And wake up where the clouds are far behind me
Where troubles melt like lemon drops
Am7 Cm7 ÊBm7 ÊÊÊC ÊÊÊÊD7
away above the chimney tops That's where you'll find me
G Em ÊBm G7 ÊC Adim Bm G7
Some~where over the rainbow, blue birds fly
Birds fly over the ÊÊÊrainbow ÊÊÊÊÊwhy then oh ÊÊÊÊÊÊwhy can't ÊÊÊI
