Working Class Hero

Working Class Hero

As soon as you're born they make you feel small
By givin' you no time 'sted of it all
Till the pain is so big you feel nothing at all
A working class hero is something to be
A working class hero is something to be

They hurt you at home and they hit you at schoool
They hated you clever they dispise a fool
Till You're so fucking crazy you can't follow their rules
A working class hero is something to be
A working class hero is something to be

When they tortured and scared you for twenty-odd years
Then they expect you to pick a career
But you can't really function you're so full of fear
A working class hero is something to be
A working class hero is something to be

keep you doped with religion and sex and T.V.
You think you're so clever and class-less and free
But you're still fucking peasants as far as I can see
A working class hero is something to be
A working class hero is something to be

There's room at the top they are tellin' you still
But first you must learn how to smile as you kill
If you wanna be like all the folks on the hill
A working class hero is something to be
A working class hero is something to be

If You wanna be a hero then just follow me
If You wanna be a hero then just follow me

Working Class Heroes | Reviewer: nope | 4/8/10

this song puts both my heroes together john lennon who wrote the song and marilyn manson who covered it. both revolutionaries of their time speaking out against what people see as normal if you listen to their music you would see it

Im A Big Manson Fan And I Think Its A Very Very Good Cover
He Gave It A More Melloncolly Sound Than John Lennon Did
Though I Think Greendays Version .. Rather Shite ..

This John Lennon's original song(Covers range from Manson to David Bowie) is now covered on Manics new album as a hidden track after the "Winterlovers" track.Great song.

When I first got this song every one said it was "rubbish, boring, pointless." So I said "f**k you." I dont care who you are i pity the fool who doesnt like this song. If not just because its manson; then because of the catchy vocal rhythm, because of the ideas, opinions and experiences that are conveyed. Enjoy the song as I feel we can all relate to it in some way.
Thanks for reading
bye
