Roy Harper

Another Day

She offers me, Tibetan tea, on a flower tray.
She's the door, she's want's to score, she really needs to say:
"I once loved you a long time ago, you know.
G D A (Asus4, A)
Where the winds own forget-me-nots blow, you know.
G D A (Asus4, A)
But I couldn't let myself go, not knowing what on earth there was to know.
But I wish that I had, 'cause it makes me so sad,
that I never had one of your children".
G D A (Asus4, A)
2.
Across the room, inside a tomb, a chance is waxed and waned.
The night is young, why are we so hung-up, in each other's chains.
I must take her, I must make her, while the dove domains.
See the jiuce run as she flies.
Run my wings under her sighs
As the flames of enternity rise,
To lick us with the first born lash of dawn.
Oh really my dear, I can't see what we fear, with ourselves,
sat here between us
3.
And at the door, we can't say more, than just another day.
Without a sound, I turn around, and I walk away.
Notes on chords etc

I've written this out as if played in 1st position. Roy actually plays this
with a capo on the 4th fret (so the first chord is in fact Emaj7) (although
I'm not sure he doesn't play it starting on Fmaj7 on the original??)
It goes very low singing it as written above - but I reckon to get away
with it (mind you I never get away with my singing in the first
place...). Whatever, best to think in terms of these chords.
The way Roy plays the chords (as if in 1st position):
=========== ==========x =========== =========== ===========
|_|_|_|_|_| |_|_1_|_|_| |_|_|_|_|_| |_|_|_|_|_| |_|_|_|_|_|
|_|_1_|_|_| 2_3_|_4_|_| |_2_3_|_|_| |_|_|_1_|_2 |_1_|_|_|_|
2_3_|_|_|_| |_|_|_|_|_| |_|_|_|_|_| |_|_|_|_3_| 2_|_|_|_3_4
|_|_|_|_|_| |_|_|_|_|_| |_|_|_|_|_| |_|_|_|_|_| |_|_|_|_|_|
|_|_|_|_|_| |_|_|_|_|_| |_|_|_|_|_| |_|_|_|_|_| |_|_|_|_|_|
=========== =========== ===========
|_|_|_|_|_| |_|_|_|_|_| |_|_|_1_|_|
|_|_1_2_3_| |_|_1_2_3_| |_2_3_|_|_|
|_|_|_|_|_| |_|_|_|_4_| |_|_|_|_|_|
|_|_|_|_|_| |_|_|_|_|_| |_|_|_|_|_|
|_|_|_|_|_| |_|_|_|_|_| |_|_|_|_|_|
If you're not into capos or low singing, the easiest key to transpose to
is up a 4th for which the chords would be (old ones in brackets):
Fmaj7 (=Cmaj7); E7 (=B7); Am (=Em); G (=D); C (=G); D (=A); A (=E)
