All along the ancient wastes the thin reflections spin
As C# Es As That gather all the times and tides at once we love within
C# Es As That build the edges round the shrouds that cloud the setting sun
Es As Es As C# Es As And carry us to other days and other days to one
Es C# As C# Es As And full the single stillness of the mirror that is made
C# Es As By each and every one of all the colours in a shade
C# Es As Inside each eye is sitting like the sword inside the blade
Es As Es As C# Es And longs for once upon a chance to open loves cascade
Es C# As C# Es As For here we stand hand to hand
Es Fighting for the promised land

There was a famous stragler stood on the edge of time
FMAJ B Es B Who held the staff but did not feel the pain
As Es B F B He multiplied the mystery with utterance sublime
Es B And crossed his heart for those who died insane
As Es B F B His friend a restless mouthpiece seven thousand years of age
Es B Trends to flash a face to shape his ways
As Es B F B Everlasting light is burning bright inside his cage
Es B He's only got to breathe to fan the blaze
As Es B F B Such a groove to have him here on board her ladyship
Es B The man who makes his living out of bed
G D A E A (diminuendo...)
Such a gas to see him flying through his ceaseless lip
(no chord)
One day someday soon he'll lose his head
As Es B F B And withering in the galleries with eyes fixed on the door
Es B Are who and you and me and thanks a lot
As Es B F B And those who see but cannot stand to walk on any floor
Es B For fear that good is something bad is not
As Es B F B But loud and clear is the call
Es In black and white across your wall
B And Damn it all man
F7 Can't you see?

FM FM7 F#maj7 As As/F# NOTES
I'm not at all sure what the best way to convey some of the twiddley
details is, but I'll try my best to do it in TAB...
The usual TAB notation, plus: ^ = down strum, v = up strum (which
looks backwards until you think about it...) and -> = hammer on or
pull off (the direction should be obvious), __ = slur (slide the notes
smoothly together). Timing is whole beat ticks under the TAB.

Really bash the open Es and Em chord as hard as you dare!
