Stone Sour

<!-- start of lyrics -->
I don't know how else to put this
It's taken me so long to do this
I'm falling asleep and I can't see straight
My muscles feel like a melee
My body's curled in a U-shape
I put on my best but I'm still afraid

Propped up by lies and promises
Saving my place as life forgets
Maybe its time I saw the world

I'm only here for a while
But patience is not my style
And I'm so tired that I gotta go

What am I supposed to hide now?
What am I suppose to do?
Did you really think I wouldn't see this through

Tell me I should stick around for you
Tell me I could have it all
I'm still too tired to care and I gotta go

I get to go home in one week
But I leaving home in three weeks
They throw me a bone just to pick me dry

I'm following suit and directions
I crawl up inside for protection
I'm told what to do and I don't know why

I'm over existing in limbo
I'm over the myths and placebos
I don't really mind if I just fade away

I'm ready to live with my family
I'm ready to die in obscurity
'Cause I'm so tired that I gotta go

Where am I supposed to hide now?
What am I suppose to do?
You still don't think I'm going see this through

Tell me I'm a part of history
Tell me I can have it all
I'm still to tired to care and I gotta go

Oh yeah
Oh yeah yeah yeah yeah.

Still too tired to care and I gotta go
Still too tired to care and I gotta go
Still too tired to care and I gotta go

Yeah, yeah

Still to tired to care and I gotta go

Go home

Still to tired to care and I gotta go

Yeah yeah

Still to tired to care and I gotta go

A soldier's struggle | Reviewer: C Sib | 5/17/12
I'm not in the military and I've never struggled with drugs or alcohol. I think you should take it the way you need it to be. In my opinion, it feels like a soldier in a very bad and dismal place. Questioning why and what their mission is. I think you start off inspired and full of piss and vinegar but when you witness your friends killed or human suffering or are injured physically and or mentally yourself, it takes a major toll. We take that sacrifice for granted and I think Stone Sour is helping put it into perspective. Thank you for such a heartfelt and touching song. God Bless our men and women in the armed forces.

Road sign... | Reviewer: Eric | 9/18/11
Although I don't know the official meaning of the song, what I can tell you is there is a road near Baker Ca with the same name, road sign and everything. The name was a made up name claiming it to be the last word in the english language. Check out Wikipedia.

Both | Reviewer: Anonymous | 5/29/11
I am former addict as well as have a service member in my life...when i first heard this getting a leave and coming home to see family for a very short time was what i interpreted it as...I cried. I also see it from the addict perspective that if you struggle w/ drugs or alcohol can also be for a short time...it gives meaning to both and touches hearts of all...

COREY AND HIS DEMONS | Reviewer: Anonymous | 4/27/11
WELL EVIDENTALLY MOST OF U DONT KNOW THIS,BUT COREY ALMOST COMMITTED SUICIDE WHILE BEING HIGH ON DRUG,S AND HIS FIRST WIFE SAVED HIM,HE HAD A VERY HARD CHILDHOOD,SO IM MY OPINION THE SONG IS ABOUT HIS DEMONS AND RECOVERING FROM ALOT OF STUFF IN HIS LIFE

rehab | Reviewer: putrid | 12/29/10
The song seems to be about being in and getting ready to leave drug and alcohol rehab... told from the persective of a rockstar. if you've ever suffered from addiction or been in treatment for addiction, you'll immediately remember those days in treatment when listening to this song. You'll understand the lies and promises, putting on your best - but still afraid, and being still to tired, but knowing you have to leave to get back to the real world.

Military | Reviewer: Justin Gale | 9/24/10

To my fellow service member who replied: I agree with you. I don't know corys background and don't know if he was in the service, but every word translates to joining(basic training) and going to war. I will not translate every line of this song, but if you are in the military you know you have been propped up by lies and promises, and going through basic, "Did you really think I wouldn't see this through".
I'm following suit and directions
I crawl up inside for protection
I'm told what to do and I don't know why" I know everyone has their own meaning to this song and I will not knock anyone’s interpretation. I know Cory won’t tell the exact meaning of the song to save his fans from losing their fucking minds, but as long as it means what it means to you....well then, the song has served its purpose.
Thanks again for all the support while we are at war…. – 2x Afghan Vet.

this is about going to war? bull! | Reviewer: jacob | 7/18/10
it's about his life as a rockstar... i'm like corey.. i was an outcast and once you're an outcast, you're scarred for life.. and like no matter how hard you try, you're always gonna be an outsider... and also, when he says "saving my place as life forgets", i think he means it like he's depressed and feels like everyone will eventually forget about him.

awesome song | Reviewer: Anonymous | 4/8/10
my life is just so fast and everything seems to just go by so fast i miss so much, and this song just made me slow down i love it, its amazing. it just reminded me that sometimes you just need to slow down and take a break from everything

the meaning I got from the song | Reviewer: Anonymous | 3/13/10
I think this song is about the life of a rock star in particular maybe Corey Talor. In the begining it talks about being curled in a u shape and his body hurting which is directly related to opiete abuse and phisical withdraw a problem that many rock stars face. The coming home only to leave again is about the road and going on tour, being tired is something that just comes along with the life style you beat yourself down writing practicing recording and then the producers and record label executives tell you when and how you have to go on tour and sell the record so that they can make more money while the stars themselves make only a fraction on the music they bleed thier soul out making and in reality the record label actually owns. This is just my opinion music speaks to each person in a different way and relates to what you are going through in your life or what you have gone through so it could mean something completly different to you. The only real way to know is if you met Corey Taylor himself and asked him what he meant by the song.

The meaning | Reviewer: Anonymous | 2/15/10
The meaning of this song is clearly about going to war. Over there they are over worked and are almost always tired because they dont get alot of time to sleep with all the stuff thats going on at night. Every little thing over there can and will keep you up for days at a time. Most of the time the guys and girls only come back for 3 weeks or less at a time. And when you get word that you get to go home in a week, that week will drag on until its over and your on your way home, to see your family again. By the part where he said "Did you really think I wouldn't see this through" he was talking about first joining the military to your loved ones and telling them that your going to be leaving them soon. Everyone get their own meaning from this song but to most people here and over there fighting the war for all you back in the states the meaning of the song is what I just said.

Thank you for supporting us in our time of need and we all hope this will be over real soon. We all just want to go home and stay there with our family and friends.

not just a song | Reviewer: Anonymous | 1/5/10
I have suffered from depression for a while and ya, these lyrics remind me that there's always hope, even in the darkest times...and this is not their only song that means something, "everything we do, is just everything we'v done" reminds me that the past comes back....stronger every time.

Good one! | Reviewer: Jeromy | 9/16/09
The first time I heard this song I was scanning the album real quick because it belonged to a friend of mine and wanted to see how soon I wanted to get it I was listening to the first few seconds of each song starting at one and when this one come on the piano at the beginning just mezmerized me and I listened to the whole thing I almost cried actually I think I did, My life was on a pretty fast and dangerous rollercoaster & it just slowed me down every time that I played it aided me in figuring out my life.

great song | Reviewer: Anonymous | 8/8/09
Corey says this was the hardest song to perform because of how REAL the words are. it about what he says. being tired of the road and follwing other peoples directions. and missing so much because he was always gone.

versatile and amazing | Reviewer: Anonymous | 5/6/08
this song has heart, meaning but yet its got so much more.. this song hits you hard and not cause its so derpressin but the way he expresses himself in this is just amazing.. i love slipknot, i love stone sour and in the whole music industry there is no one more versatile with his voice then the god of music corey taylor.. for anyone that thinks this song is emo and derpressive maybe before you put the song down find out what its meanin is and you'll know what corey went through and you'll understand how beautiful this song is.

this is a great song | Reviewer: aaron | 11/30/07
