Montezuma

I take these many miles
And multiply by two
I can't hide the great divide
I've given to you
an oil sky in pale blue
Near Montezuma

You got too far to see – too far from me
And further on you ran
I tried believing – you were leaving
For another man
A man who knew his way through
to Montezuma

When I was young I broke a heart
But I was unaware
And now I'm old and torn apart
And lost in other cares
I can't recall the last time
I saw Montezuma
